The spiritual leader of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu alongside his faithful ended a 3-day ‘Dry Fasting’ Friday at their world headquarters in Calabar.
Addressing his followers, he stated that the ongoing heat waves and mysterious wild fires ravaging parts of Europe and Asia are as a result of disobedience to God.
He noted that many have completely neglected God’s precepts and even removed God from everything in their lives.
According to him, fasting and prayers can help much in reducing the calamities plaguing mankind.
“The heat waves and mysterious wild fires which are plaguing many parts of the world are due to disobedience to God’s injunctions and lack of giving Him pride of place.
“Fasting and prayer would tame those natural disasters and occurrences. Fasting and prayer are the keys to success and to achieving all needs. The world should key into them.”
The respected spiritual leader also noted that dry fasting epitomizes dedication and loyalty to the creator, adding that it endows God’s redeeming power through flesh mortification.
He disclosed that God uses fasting and prayers to overcome the world.
Spokesman of the fold, Patriarch Christ Shepherd Amah William’s said they devoted the three days and nights where they did not bath, eat, or drink water to pray for Nigeria, swift end to the Russia-Ukraine war and other parts of the world afflicted by conflicts.
