One week to elections, INEC extends PVC collection deadline by 2 days
INEC Chairman, Prof Yakubu
Just one week to the generation elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended the collection of the Permanent Voters
Card (PVC) by two more days.
The earlier deadline was Friday February 8.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, gave the notification in Abuja on Friday at the regular meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners (REC) in states and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to him, the meeting was to have a final review of preparations for the elections.
He said the collection of PVCs will now take place from 9am to 6pm daily and state offices are directed to review the procedure for the collection and dedicate all the staff of the local government offices to the collection process. The chairman assured that the commission will continue to take every necessary step to ensure that no registered voter is disenfranchised on account of non-collection of PVCs.
