One-year anniversary: Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission Executive Secretary, Rev. Yakubu Pam laud staff, media for success

Rev. Yakubu Pam speaks at the occasion of one year in office

The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. (Dr.) Yakubu Pam lauded the media and management of the Commission for any landmark achievement in the first year of his administration.
Marking his one-year in office on Wednesday, Rev. Pam noted that the staff of the Commission have been supportive of his administration so far.

He said directors, management, supporting staff have all been professional and enthusiastic in their duties. “I could sense their enthusiasm as a clarion call to inject the needed tonic to launch them into action.”
According to him, from the departments, he met with staff in turns and at the end of his first consultations and self-introduction, the staff were “yearning and hungry” to resume back to work.
The Executive Secretary noted that few things must be rebuked and stopped by some of the staff including “little talks and gossips” noting that the Commission is a Christian environment and all work as a family.

Rev. Pam acknowledged the various roles played and still playing by the media in helping him deliver on his mandate.
“I have found in you the pillar of support relating my activities the last year to the outside world. Indeed, you are very special to my heart,” he said of the media.

He confessed the journey no doubt has provided him greater insights into the rudiments of bureaucracy pointing out the experience has been stressful, baffling, time-consuming, very interesting and rewarding.
He said the Peace Component added to his basic responsibility was a task he saw must be achieved and gladly accepted it with every sense of loyalty and humility.
On pilgrimage, he explained, after several efforts put in place the 2020 pilgrimage to the Holy Kingdom of Jordan will take place this month all things being equal.
He said Jordan played an important role in biblical history being the center where Jesus Christ began his earthly ministry after the Jordanian baptism.
In his goodwill message, the Kaduna State Council Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Adamu Yusuf said the media will continue to support the Executive Secretary on his journey.
The Chairman of the Plateau State Correspondents’ Chapel, Gyang Bere appreciated the staff of the Commission for supporting the media in the discharge of its duties.
He commended the efforts of the Commission in actualizing the mandate of the Peace Desk.
Highlights of the occasion was unveiling of the NCPC Pilgrim Anthem, presentation of a documentary and Special Edition of the Nigerian Pilgrim Magazine: “Rev. Yakubu Pam: One year on the saddle.”
There were also the cutting of the anniversary cake and presentation of gifts by the Management, Protocol Department, Media Department and some Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO).
