Leading Nigerian companies across telecommunications, banking, media, and the beverage industry have reaffirmed their commitment to support the 2025 Ofala Festival in Onitsha, Anambra State.

The festival will take place from October 7 to November 2, 2025.

Among the key sponsors are Globacom Nigeria, Zenith Bank, Guinness Nigeria, International Breweries PLC, NigerBev Limited, and several prominent media organizations, including Arise TV/ThisDay, Afia TV/Afia Radio, and Pop Central TV. The National Council for Arts and Culture is also lending its support.

Speaking at a press briefing, Chief Nn’emeka Maduegbuna, Chairman of the Strategic Marketing and Communications Subcommittee for the festival, announced that this year’s edition will combine tradition with innovation.

Themed “Njiko na Ntachi” (Unity and Perseverance), the 2025 Ofala Festival will celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Onicha Ado N’Idu Kingdom while also promoting communal values, creativity, and resilience.

Festival Highlights: Iru Ofala and Azu Ofala (Oct. 17–18): The main cultural highlights featuring royal processions, traditional dances, and performances by Onitsha’s age-grade societies.
Ofala Lecture Series: To be held at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, this annual lecture honors Obi Nnaemeka Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, for his contributions to public engagement and leadership.
Oreze Art Exhibition: A platform to showcase paintings, sculptures, and ceramics from Nigerian and African artists.
Ofala Youth Carnival: A colorful street parade showcasing Onitsha’s vibrant youth culture and traditions.
Medical & Wellbeing Outreach: Community-focused health programs.
Thanksgiving Service: A special service to mark the festival’s success and the monarch’s reign.
Chief Maduegbuna also revealed the introduction of the Ofala Mobile App, available on Android and iOS, offering real-time updates, multimedia content, and cultural insights to enhance the festival experience globally.

“The app bridges tradition and technology, connecting attendees and well-wishers from around the world to the spirit of Ofala,” he said.

Media professionals can apply for accreditation on the official website, www.ofala.org, between September 25 and October 8, 2025.

The organizers extended an open invitation to Nigerians and international guests to join the celebration, which remains one of West Africa’s most iconic cultural events.
