Ortom worried over arrest of PDP chieftain in Benue

Governor Ortom
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has expressed concern over the arrest of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) state central agent, Dr Cletus Tyokyaa by security agencies on allegation that he was training thugs.
Ortom made the disclosure to newsmen at his Gbajimgba country home shortly after he cast his votes at Ako polling unit in LGEA Primary School in Gbajimba, Guma Local Government Area.
“They said he was training thugs and by 5am today (Saturday), they went to his house, they did not see any thug but they arrested him. This will not be allowed,” he said.
The governor alleged that the federal government was using the arrests to divert attention and manipulate the elections as he noted that only God could give power to whomever he wills.
Ortom also said that no sign of manipulation will be stomached in Benue State no matter at what level, stressing that the people of the state know what they want and they are poised to vote to achieve it.
The Governor and his wife, Eunice arrived the polling unit at about 9:27am where the voters already turned out enmase to exercise their civic rights but he voted at exactly 9:45am even as he adjudged the process as so far, free and fair and called on his people to be peaceful and law abiding as they cast their votes.
