The National Chairman of Boot Party, Chief Sonny Adenuga has withdrawn the suit filed against the governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), the PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission by the Osun state chairman of the party, Prince Adeleke Masilo.
The state chairman, Masilo has also written a letter of apology to the national leadership of Boot Party, apologising for acting in the name of the party without approval and for filing the case against Senator Adeleke.
Chief Adenuga in his directive on the matter expressed indignation at the conduct of Masilo, declaring that “the BOOT Party has taken several actions to address this rogue action.
“I wish to correct all derogatory and innuendoes against my personality on social media Platforms regarding the above subject.
“On my authority as the National Chairman of The BOOT Party, I wish to state unequivocally and without any mental reservation that The BOOT Party did not authorise the suit instituted in Osun State challenging the electoral candidacy of Senator Adeleke. When The BOOT Party became aware of the suit through the news, I immediately activated our process instrument for issues like this. Our findings showed that the suit was clandestinely and surreptitiously instituted.
“The BOOT Party has taken several actions to address this rogue action. Since BOOT Party is only interested in pursuing its Agenda of ONE WORKING NIGERIA (OWN) and bringing the Party to the doorstep of every Nigerian, we are not interested in what transpires in other Political Parties or whether candidates of others parties were properly or duly elected during their Party Primaries.
“As part of reiterating the moral rectitude of The BOOT Party, I have given irrevocable instruction that the suit be withdrawn and an apology letter; forthwith to be followed with further disciplinary actions against the individuals that were responsible for bringing The BOOT Party to disrepute as a result of this ignoble and disgraceful legal action which is considered as one of the several attempts by the Old and discredited Political Parties to infiltrate The BOOT Party to knee-cap the Party and undermine its zero tolerance for corruption. Unfortunately for these people, they have chosen a wrong party to mess with”, the statement noted.
