PDP National Chairman describes Bauchi Governor, Bala Mohammed ‘Star in PDP’

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Iyorchia Ayu Saturday evening led other chieftains of the party to Bauchi for consultations on how to find a lasting solution to lingering crisis within the party.
The consultations were held behind closed doors at the Ramat House extension of the Government House with the Director General of the Presidential Campaign Council and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri, Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, former Governor of Jigawa State Sule Lamido and other party leaders in attendance.
Before the meeting went into closed doors, Iyorchia Ayu had commended the experiences of Bala Mohammed in politics saying that it has made him to be a star and a reference point in the party’s affairs.
The PDP boss applauded Bala Mohammed for his commitment to the party’s growth and development acknowledging his outstanding performance in the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people of the state through execution of various developmental projects.
According to him, “the visit to the Bauchi governor was to brief him on the ongoing development within the party especially the PDP National campaign ahead of the conduct of the forthcoming 2023 general elections” .
Iyorchia Ayu explained that, “We are here in Bauchi for a very good reasons, one is to appreciate our host, Governor Bala Mohammed who is one of our stars in the PDP. He is performing excellently well and we are very proud of him, secondly, we are back here to appreciate him for what he did to us as a party few weeks ago when we came for a PDP North East meeting, the massive mobilization has made us to be proud of the position of our party in Bauchi, the stadium was full with our supporters and this shows that PDP is very strong in Bauchi”.
He added that, “We are here to also brief you on some of the developments that are going on in the party nationally, because you’re not only a Governor in Bauchi State, but a leader in this country with an experience in all the places you worked.”
On his part, Bala Mohammed reaffirmed his loyalty and commitment to the party’s development, assuring that, “Bauchi will do more in protecting the image of the party in the next year’s general elections” .
Bala Mohammed added that, “I am happy that our leaders in our great party, PDP have visited me today and they have acknowledged our modest contribution towards the progress and development of the party. we believe in the party and we must say that, whatever we became, is a courtesy of PDP.”
At the end of the meeting which lasted about 1 hour 30 minutes, the PDP leaders emerged to the embrace of anxious Journalists who were shocked as they declined to make any policy pronouncements claiming that the meeting was private which outcome was not for public consumption.
However, a close source who was privy to the meeting told our Correspondent that the party leaders discussed majorly how to curtail the excesses of the rebel group led by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike in ensuring that it does not have much negative impact on the electoral chances of the party.
He also told our Correspondent that the adhoc meeting consider the schedules of the campaign and made necessary adjustments to it to ensure that the objectives of mobilization of support were achieved before the election period.
