The PDP National Committee of Friends, heartily congratulate His Excellency, Phillips Omeiza Salawu, on his 68th Birthday Anniversary being marked today, 29th, October 2025.
In a statement by Mallam Danjuma Andamin for the PDP National Committee of Friends, from the Six Geopolitical Zones of Nigeria, Salawu is an Astute Politician, an Academic Star, and a Financial Technocrat.
The former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Dr. Salawu, B.Sc, M.Sc, PhD, D.Sc, FCA, FCTI, FCS, FFIA, FCCrFA, FCCFI, CPFA, ACIB,
AICMC, LLB, BL; is also a Chartered Corporate Accountant, a Chartered Public Finance Accountant, a Chartered Banker, a Chartered StockBroker, and a Chartered Tax Practitioner.
He is also Chartered Mediator, a Chartered Conciliator, a Certified Forensic Auditor, a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Barrister and a Solicitor at the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
According to the statement, in Academics and in his Professional outings, Dr. Salawu made a Division One with Distinction at his WASCE, a First Class grade in his first degree, winning all the Prime Academic Prizes and led his PhD class at the Coursework program.
In celebrating his birthday, the National Committee of Friends noted that Dr. Salawu is a Fellow and an Associate of Nine Credible Professional Bodies, Worldwide.
Dr. Salawu attended important Academic and Professional Institutions including the Government Secondary School Okene in Kogi State, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, the London School of Economics and Political Science in England, Emily Woolf College of Accountancy in High Holborn London, University of Jos, Baze University, Abuja FCT and the Nigerian Law School, at its Abuja Campus.
He was a career Banker who worked in four different Merchant Banks and rose from the position of a Financial Analyst to that of a Deputy General Manager, DGM, between 1983 and 1995.
In his private business engagements, he is the Chairman of a Business Conglomerate with interests in Real Estate, Hospitality Industry, Agriculture, Mining, Quarry, Oil & Gas, Education, Forensics, and Business Consultancy.
In politics, Dr. Salawu was the First National Director of Finance of the PDP who designed the Accounting System for the party. He deployed his intellectual, technical, professional, material, institutional and logistic resources in building the solid foundation of the PDP at its inception in October 1998.
He was the PDP Deputy Governor of Kogi State from 2003 to 2012.
He is currently a member of the PDP National Board of Trustees, (BoT), and represents his home State, Kogi, at the BoT.
Dr. Salawu is currently a PDP Non-Aligned National Chairmanship candidate from the North Central Geopolitical Zone.
