Taraba State Government has disclosed that 2011/2012 ongoing screening for retirees of civil servants has been cleared with payment equally in progress.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Douglas Kisaba who stated this in an interview with our correspondent in Jalingo Tuesday said the committee will also commence screening of 2013 batch of the retirees any moment from now, in line with the yearning of the State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas.
He further explained that the date of commencement of the next batch will be communicated shortly.
Douglas thanked the Governor for considering State and Local Government retirees in his developmental policies of moving the state forward.
Cross section of 2011/2012 retirees who bare their minds to our reporter at the Ministry lauded Governor Kefas, Commissioner of Finance, Dr. Sarah Enock Adi and the committee for extending their lives span through the ongoing exercise, noting that it was almost a dashed hope before the intervention of Governor Kefas.
Specifically, the Hon. Commissioner of Finance during an investigation carried out in the Ministry revealed that, the committee were seriously warned against shabby deals during the process and made it clear that anyone caught in the act will be summarily dismissed from service.
