A former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has reiterated his dedication to improving Nigeria’s education and healthcare sectors during a visit to institutions in Anambra State on Friday, October 31, 2025.

Sharing details on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Obi said he visited the College of Nursing Sciences, Amichi, before proceeding to Immaculate Girls Model Secondary School, Nnewi, where he interacted with teachers and students.

He recalled providing support to the school during his tenure as Governor, including the donation of laptops, a school bus, and other essential facilities. According to Obi, the school noted that the only bus they currently have is the one he donated 12 years ago, which is now in poor condition.

“They told me that the only school bus they have is the one I donated as Governor, and it is no longer fully functional after about 12 years of use. They requested a new bus and more laptops. I assured them of my continued support in providing the necessary tools and facilities to enhance learning,” Obi said.

Continuing his outreach, Obi visited St. Felix Hospital, Nnewi, following a recent appeal for assistance. He announced a ₦5 million donation to support the hospital’s operations and promised sustained assistance.

“I gave my support of ₦5 million to help their operations and pledged to continue supporting the hospital and its facilities,” he added.

Obi emphasized that continued investment in education and healthcare is essential for Nigeria’s development and human capital growth.

“For our Nation to progress, we must deliberately invest in education and health the most critical foundations for National development. I remain committed to contributing my part, no matter how small, to building a Nigeria where every child can learn and every citizen can access quality healthcare,” he wrote.

He concluded with his signature message of optimism: “A New Nigeria is Possible.”
