Ten prospective delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Plateau State told Nentawe Yilwada, the gubernatorial nominee of the party that he cannot be joined in the suit filed before a Plateau State High Court challenging the circumstances that led to his nomination.

The delegates, through their counsel, S.A Abba, told Justice Arum Ashoms, that joining Nentawe in the suit contradicts the law.

Abba, who argued that Nentawe seeking to join the case was ridiculous and elementary, urged the court to refuse the application.

It would be recall that the aggrieved prospective delegates filed a case against the APC for excluding them as the rightful prospective delegates for the party gubernatorial primary election and replacing them with unknown individuals which they claimed contradicts the party’s guidelines and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Abba, maintained that Nentawe cannot be join in the suit because the Claimants are challenging the charades that took place before his emergence as the party’s candidate.

According to him, Nentawe is not an official of APC or a delegate, therefore he cannot be joint in the suit because the matter was filed May, 24th, 2022 before the primary which produced him as the purpoted candidate was conducted.

“He is not an official of APC, but just a candidate of the party and has no business as what happened in the suit.

“His application is predicated on an amended originating summon dated 9th September, 2022, and that amended, originating summon as not come into life, is a docile document which is yet to come into existence. So is like entering a house that does not exist”, Abba explained.

“Our hope is that he doesn’t join in the suit because his intension to join in the suit amount to being a busy-body and better described as an interloper, an intruder and doesn’t have business in the matter”.

Abba, urged the court to throw the application of Nentawe to the trash, stressing that the matter is too elementary.

However, counsel to Nentawe, A.G Yirvoms, disagreed with Abba, insisting that his client is a product of the party primary, therefore the matter before the court affects him directly.

He argued that his application which was filed on the 24th, October, 2022 was based on the amended summon dated 9th, September, 2022 filed by the delegates Counsel.

Justice Ashoms adjourned the matter until Tuesday, November 22 for ruling on whether Nentawe is to be joined in the suit.
