Plateau exempts essential duty workers from work-free day to celebrate 47 years, reconciliation day

The Plateau State Government says essential duty workers are exempted from the work-free day it declared to celebrate 47 years of creation and marking the day of reconciliation.

This was contained in a statement Tuesday by Dan Manjang, Honourable Commissioner, Information and Communication on Tuesday.

The full statement:

Further to the earlier statement issued on the declaration of a work-free day in commemoration of the creation of Plateau State 47 years ago and the marking of this year’s Forgiveness and Reconciliation Day approved by the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, for Tuesday 7th February, 2023, workers on essential duty are to note that as usual, they are exempted because of the nature of their assignments.

Therefore, such workers in hospitals, fire and emergency, media, security among others are expected to continue to offer their services which are part of the sacrifices towards building a greater Plateau.

Other citizens of Plateau State not in critical services are called upon to turn out enmasse today Tuesday, 7th February to participate in this epoch-making event.
