Plateau gets COVID-19 diagnostic centre

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), has given approval to the National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI), Vom, Plateau State as an accredited Laboratory for the COVID-19 diagnostic testing centre.

This message was conveyed by  the Plateau State COVID-19 Situation Room in its twitter handle on Saturday.

It said,  “We are pleased to announce that the National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI), VOM is now an accredited Laboratory for #COVID19 diagnostic testing.”

This is coming at a time the state was yet to record any infection and is doing everything possible to maintain a free COVID-19 status as the one week total lockdown ordered  by the government enters its third day.

The Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN) also confirmed this in its tweeter handle.

“National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI), VOM, now an accredited Laboratory for COVID – 19 diagnostic testing.
Thank you CP. Aishatu Abubakar Baju for using your influence for the good of the Veterinary profession”, the council states. The number of COVID-19 testing labs in the country now stands at 11.
