The Plateau State Government has assured people in the state that there is no cause for alarm over the three Chinese miners placed under observation as a result of the killer Corona virus disease.

The Commissioner for Information and Communicstion, Dan Manjang dropped this hint while reacting to “rumour going on the social media that there is suspected case of  Coronavirus in Plateau State.”

According to the government in a statement, “there are 3 Chinise miners in Wase  LGA, that flew from China recently to Nigeria through Abuja to Plateau State, for that reason the Plateau State Ministry of Health has placed the 3 Chinise citizens on Isolation to determine whether they have contacted the virus or not.”

He said though the foreigners had isolated themselves from the public even before the government’s action,  it was expected that they would remain under proper observation for two weeks to determine their status.

Following reports of the arrival of the Chinese miners last week from China after a holiday, panic spread across the state when the authorities placed them under observation as a result of the spread of the virus which a case involving an Italian was diagnosed in Lagos State last week.
