The Kaduna State government has been urged to investigate the killing of a youth corp member by alleged “phone robbers”.
Giving the charge in a press statement, the Plateau Our Heritage Revival Initiative (POHri), who identified the the late corper as Ms. Grace Chalya Silas, said the unidentified killers should be arrested and brought to book immediately.
While condemning in strongest terms the gruesome murder that took place at Barnawa Kaduna State by criminal elements, the POHri described the attack on the lady as “unprovoked”, the statement signed by Chairman, Alex Kwapnoe and Secretary, Friday Bako stressed.
The innocent Lady who was serving the Nation as a youth corper in line with the one year mandatory policy by government to acquaint the youths with the various cultures and traditions of their country men and women was stabbed by inhuman, wicked and barbaric elements while jogging in the early hours.
“We are therefore calling on the Kaduna State government and security agencies to swing into action and ensure those behind the heinous crime are arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law to serve as deterrent to others.
“We are quite disturbed by the despicable act and wish to call on the Kaduna State Government not to sweep the issue under the carpet but give it the needed intervention.
“This is unacceptable and a crime against humanity that must not be condoned but condemned by well-meaning citizens of Nigeria.”, it said.
The body then sympathised with her immediate family, loved ones, the Taroh Nation, Plateau State Government and the peace-loving people of Plateau State “over this barbaric act meted on our Daughter”.
