Plateau Our Heritage, (POH), is excited over the COVID-19 positive status of the state Chief of Staff, Mr. Noel Dongjur and the Hon. Abe Aku, the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry, both of whose results turned out negative.

The socio-cultural group expressed its happiness in a press release signed by Hon. Alex Kwapnoe, Chairman and Friday Bako, Secretary where they commended the state government for its proactive approach at stemming the pandemic.

The group expressed appreciation to the two top government functionaries for their patience and resilience throughout the period of thier isolation and subsequent negative results.

The release said the POH “wishes to commend the proactive steps so far taken by the Plateau state governor, His Excellency, Governor Simon Bako Lalong in the fight against the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic. This indeed, is a testimony that the Plateau state government is not relenting in its determination to protect the citizens from this dreaded pandemic to ensure that all economic and social activities rebound across the state”

Though the POH stressed  that it was not unmindful of the fact that there are other tests results are being awaited, it equally urge the citizens to cooperate with the government and support all efforts at getting these results released as this will further avail the state the opportunity to live up to its responsibilities.

It called on the citizens; especially those who have contacts with any person; either taken  to an isolation facility  or suffering from the symptoms of COVID-19, to make it a duty to quickly avail themselves for further tests and subsequent isolation pending the determination of these results as a far reaching step to curbing further spread.

“The POH notes with satisfaction, the sacrifices so far made by all and appeal to all that this must be sustained because its for the good of all as the state joined the world in the fight of COVID-19 as to get out of this, requires patience on the part of the people especially now that the government all all level is not losing sleep to contain the spread.

“POH further encourages the effort of the members of the Plateau vaccine committee to put in thier best by maintaining world standards best practices in arriving at their conclusions so as to stimulate acceptance of the presence of COVID-19 in our daily life.

“The government should also initiate further testing of civil servants; including menbers of groups and associations not limited to  the NURTW, markerts and traders unions etc who are considered vulnerable because of their daily interactions with the populace as a further step to mitigating the spread”, it stressed.
