Plateau PDP governorship candidate visits supporters involved in crash as APC rival sympathizes

The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Barrister Caleb Muftwang has visited and sympathise with party men and women that were involved in an accident on their way back after the launching of the party’s statewide campaign.
This followed the road accident involving a Toyota Hiace Bus, conveying supporters of the Plateau State Chapter of the party, who accompanied the flagbearer of the party’s gubernatorial election after flaging-off a zonal rally in Shendam on Tuesday.
This was coming at the heels of the All Progressives Congress governorship Candidate Dr Nentawe Yilwatda expressing sadness over the incident.
It was learnt that the PDP candidate took time off to visit the victims in the hospital where they are receiving treatment shortly after returning from the tedious rally in the southern zone.
“Barr. Caleb Mutfwang (BCM), upon returning to Jos from the southern zone campaign flag-off, in company of concerned supporters, in the evening, proceeded straight to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), to visit the victims of the road mishap, and to also empathize with them and their respective families.
The visibly agitated gubernatorial candidate who managed to conceal his tears from public glare, assured them of his support, in addition to full payment of their hospital bills”, a source hinted.
He also appreciated the staff and management of Jos University Teaching Hospital, JUTH for prompt attendion to the accident victims, and ensuring that they are in stable condition.
He especially appreciated the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Pokop Bupwatda, and senior staff of the hospital, for rushing to the accident and emergency department, to join hands with emergency physicians, and provide assistance to the injured.
So far, out of the 16 occupants of the vehicle, 6 were discharged yesterday, and 1 this morning, while the remaining are responding very well to treatment.
Meanwhile, a statement by the spokesman for the Generation Next Campaign Council Shittu Bamaiyi quotes Nentawe as saying that it is saddening that some of the party supporters sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of the accident.
Nentawe who described the incident as unfortunate expressed gratitude to God that no life was lost during the accident.
He prayed for the quick recovery of the victims and expressed the hope that such incident will not occur again.
