Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-man Sunday Akanigbo,
for allegedly admitting to have raped an underaged at Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area.
A release signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Haruna Muhammed (SP) said Akanigbo was arrested along with one Ikemefuna Muoma, aged 28, who had allegedly filmed the dastardly act as it was perpetrated on the 12-year-old girl sometime in April, 2020.
According to the release, the suspects had voluntarily owned up to the offence in a statement and the video clip in their possession recovered as exhibit.
The release further stated that the scene of the incident has been visited by the police detectives and the victim taken to the hospital for medical examination.
However, the Commissioner of Police, John Abang, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal investigation Department, Awka for discreet investigation after which suspects would be charged to court for prosecution.
