Police commissioner parades 30 suspects, abolishes roadblocks in Cross River

The commissioner of police in Cross River State, Sikiru Kayode Akande has paraded 30 suspected criminals in the state and has also recovered three vehicles as well as other items.

Akande used the opportunity to announce the formal abolishment of all roadblocks across the state in keeping with the order from the new acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba.

The commissioner paraded the 30 suspected criminals before news men at the state police command headquarters Calabar Nigeria

Akande said, “I have given a matching order to all my DPOs that they should dismantle all roadblocks that exist within their areas of responsibility.

“No policeman should be seen conducting roadblocks, if there is anything the police will respond tactically.

“Any roadblocks that you don’t see a Police vehicle stationed with at least seven officers, don’t stop.

“If the police men are not up to 7 on any federal roads, please don’t stop because they could be illegal checkpoints”, the police commissioner said.
