Power issues, hostile environment killing businesses in Cross River – Manufacturers Association of Nigeria

Acting Chairman of Akwa-Ibom/Cross River chapter of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, (MAN), Mr Usen Umoh has decried the hostile business environment and epileptic power supply in parts of Cross River State.
He said these have impacted against survival of private businesses as well as manufacturing in the state.
He spoke when he led a delegation of MAN to pay the Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Prince Eka Williams, a courtesy visit on Tuesday 20 February 2024 to mention to him how discouraged they have been.
Usen said that power is very critical in every business environment and called on the state government to patronize made in Nigeria products.
Also speaking, a representative of DANELC FZE, Dickson Victor, administrative officer appealed to the state government to resolve the power issues.
Welcoming the MAN delegation, William said the state is ready and willing to go into partnership with MAN.
He explained that Cross River is one of the frontlines state in the country who are championing the Renewable Energy.
He charged members of MAN to take advantage of opportunities provided by state government.
