The Presidency has called on Nigerians to report any VIPs still using Police escorts in defiance of President Bola Tinubu’s directive.
President Tinubu recently ordered the withdrawal of Police personnel assigned to VIP protection nationwide, instructing that they be redeployed to essential policing duties.
Speaking to journalists, Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication to the President, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to implementing the order. He urged citizens to document and report any violations they observe.
According to Bwala, Nigerians should take photos or videos of any celebrity, private individual, or other non-exempt person still moving around with Police escorts, and report such incidents.
He further clarified that the directive does not cover all public officials, explaining that some key government figures will continue to receive specific security arrangements.
