President Buhari commended for resumption of academic activities in universities, urged to reappoint Prof Bogoro as TetFUND scribe

President Muhammadu Buhari has been commended for his diligence and firm stand in seeing that the unending crisis bedeviling tertiary education was amicably and politically resolved which has led to the resumption of academic activities across the country.
The President was also commended for his administration’s commitment to the provision of conducive atmosphere in all the Tertiary institutions in the country though infrastructural development couple with capacity and manpower improvement as done by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TetFUND).
The commendation was made by the leadership of the National Union of Bauchi State Students (NUBASS) while addressing news men on Sunday at the NUJ Press Center saying that with TetFUND, tertiary education in the country has taken a new dimension of positive impact.
National President of NUBASS, Comrade, Abdulrahman Shuaibu who addressed the Press said that through the TetFUND, funding of capital projects across the country has been steady and professionally handled saying that the physical infrastructure that are dotting the campuses are evident of positive turnaround in the education sector.
The NUBASS leadership also pointed out that the TetFUND has sponsored many academic activities which have led to improved service delivery in the Tertiary institutions in the country which can now stand shoulder high with tertiary institutions across the world.
NUBASS listed the achievements of TetFUND under the leadership of the Executive Secretary, Professor Suleiman Elias Bogoro which included digitization of operations, e-learning, ẹ-conference among other New ways of social media interactions.
On in-training for lecturers, NUBASS expressed satisfaction with the way it has been done saying that many academic staff have been given the opportunity to go for refresher training as well as self development programs.
It added that field and academic researches have been embarked upon sponsored by the TetFUND which have led to many discoveries in different areas of academics and science as well as agriculture.
It stressed that, with the right people in the leadership seat of TetFUND and other education agencies, education, particularly, tertiary education will be well improved and standardized in the country.
NUBASS then called on the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu to push sentiments aside and recommend the Executive Secretary of TetFUND, Professor Suleiman Elias Bogoro for a second term in office to enable him complete the various programs he has started that yet to be completed.
NUBASS expressed confidence that if given another opportunity to head TetFUND for a second term, Nigeria’s education sector will be better for it because according to the students body, “all of us here are beneficiaries of the good gesture of TetFUND under Suleiman Elias Bogoro”.
