President Buhari’s assistant charges Akwa Ibom APC to reconcile ahead 2023

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Ita Enang has called on chieftains of the opposition APC in Akwa Ibom State to work towards reconciling their differences as they strategise for general election next year.

He gave the charge when he hosted the new chairman of APC in the state, Chief Stephen Ntukekpo and his state working committee.

He called on members and stakeholders of the party to stand firm behind the new state chairman.

He disclosed that Chief Don Etiebet, an elder statesman of the party is willing to head the Reconciliation Committee to unite the various interest groups within the party ahead of the 2023 polls.

Exhorting and encouraging the new chairman to fix the party, Enang who is aspiring for governorship of the state, said:. “We must make a difference. You have been a victim of manipulation and injustice, and having been in the state executive before, you will know how to fix the party.”

Enang used the occasion to reveal that it was former governor of the State and presently Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio that bankrolled his emergence as a Senator to represent the the Uyo Senatorial District.

“I appreciate Chief Goodwill Akpabio; he sent me to the Senate. He is my friend and mentor. “We’ll always work together to ensure the progress of APC in Akwa Ibom.”

Speaking about how he will run the party, Ntukekpo said he is armed with the message of respect and unity to rebuild the party in Akwa Ibom.

Also speaking, a former commissioner, Victor Antai said APC in Akwa Ibom wants to win, and prayed God to bring sincere men and women “who would not betray our cause because our eyes are on the ball.”
