President Tinubu Allots Portfolio to Ministers, Assigns FCT to Wike, Anite FMITI

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has released portfolios to the ministerial nominees recently screened and cleared by the Senate of the National Assembly.

He assigned the former Governor of River State, Nyesom Wike as Minister for the Federal Capital Territory and Doris Anite as Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI).

The portfolios were announced by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngilale on Wednesday in Abuja.

The President of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Dr Al-Mujtaba Abubakar who lauded the appointment of Wike as the FCT Minister stated that with his track record of developing River state where he served as the Governor, there is no doubt, he would use his wealth of experience to add value to the development of FCT in terms of infrastructure.

On the appointment of Anite as the Minister for FMITI, Dr Abubakar also said the business community would be glad to see her contribution to the growth of entrepreneurs in the country.

ACCI congratulates Nyesom Wike on his appointment as the new FCT Minister adding that we believe that Wike’s leadership experience and track record of promoting economic growth and development in Rivers State will be beneficial for the Federal Capital Territory. “We look forward to collaborating with him and his team to create a more conducive business environment in Abuja, attract more investments, and facilitate trade and commerce.

“We hope that the new minister will prioritize the key priorities and challenges faced by our members, such as infrastructure development, ease of doing business, security, and policy coherence. We also urge the Minister to engage with the private sector and to our feedback and suggestions in order to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.”
