President Tinubu renames Federal University of Sciences, Azare after late Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi

President Bola Tinubu has approved the renaming of the Federal University of Sciences, Azare, after the late renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, in recognition of his lifelong contributions to Islamic scholarship and moral guidance.

The President made the announcement during a condolence visit to Bauchi State, where he paid respects to the family of the late Sheikh and prayed for the eternal rest of his soul.

President Tinubu arrived at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi, and was received by the State Governor, Bala Mohammed, alongside Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, ministers, and other top government officials.

Those present included the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, the Minister of Health, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, as well as other dignitaries who joined in welcoming the President.

Members of the presidential entourage comprised the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajuddeen Abbas, Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, the President’s son, Seyi Bola Tinubu, and other prominent personalities.

Governor Bala Mohammed appreciated President Tinubu for the condolence visit and the decision to immortalize Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi through the renaming of the university, describing the gesture as an honour to Bauchi State and Nigeria at large.
