Taraba State Ministry of Education has Suspended the Principal and Examination of Officer of Government Day Secondary School (GDSS), Salihu Dogo, Jalingo for sabotaging the free education policy of Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas.

The suspension of the Principal Mr. Haruna Joshua Assembo and the Exam Officer, Mr. Ezekiel Rimamsikwe by the Ministry was contained in a letter dated April 4th, 2024.

The Ministry accused the duo of sabotaging the free education policy of Dr. Kefas by selling of WAEC and NECO exam slots to external candidates for personal gains which supposed to be free to all candidates of Government Secondary Schools as the State Government already paid for the examinations.

To this end, the State Ministry of Education has constituted an investigative Committee to dig into the matter with a view to unearth the level of their involvement and get more substantial facts.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Principal, Administration of the school has been entrusted to oversee the affairs of the school while the Exam officer was directed to handover to a competent person pending the outcome of the investigation.

The suspension letters written separately to the affected officers were signed by the Secretary of the Ministry, Abel Bako Joachim for Permanent Secretary.
