The Bauchi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Abdulrazak Nuhu Zaki,  has unfolded  that the multifarious problems bedeviling the monthly salaries in Bauchi state are virtually over, courtesy of Deputy Governor, Senator Baba Tela led committee.

He said  payment of salaries of civil servants and pensions for the month of May, 2021 is going smoothly without any hitch with each worker and pensioner getting his/her entitlement without any omission in the payment vouchers.

Hon. Zaki made the disclosure while responding to journalists  in Bauchi  recently  where he assured that only a ghost worker will get the tweak, stressing that hundreds of workers whose salaries have been withhold or trapped in the  verification exercise have been cleared out with some appearing to be ghost workers.

Some workers or pensioners who for the past one or two months not getting their monthly entitlements will have no cause to complaint this time around as most of the problems concerning PSN, BVN, double payments of salary and pension or omission as a result of mixed names have to a large extent been sorted out.

“Our amiable Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, Kauran Bauchi has understood the hullabaloo or racket in the payment of workers’ monthly salaries and appointed the state deputy governor led committee under Senator Baba Tela to unearth the incongruities in the payment with a view to come out with nominal roll

“And God in His wisdom made the Deputy Governor to appoint me as sub-committee chairman on Local Government employees which I saw as a right decision having had some understandings of the workability of services at the local level while the state aspect of the workforce was handled by the State Head of Service who is also an experienced public officer per excellence”.

Zaki explained that the verification exercise underbthe tutelage of Senator Baba Tela took the main committee and its sub-committees only ten days to complete the assignment and categorized the report which would soon be presented to the State Executive Council by the committee chairman and Deputy Governor for approval.

“We have verified and scrutinized almost all those complaints about non-payment of salaries and pensions as a result of mixed ups in their names or account details, we have sorted out all issues regarding payment of salaries and pensions in the state and we are confidence that there would henceforth be no complaint on these issues”.

The commissioner further explained that Governor Bala Mohammed gets worried and disturbed whenever he heard about claims that some civil servants were not getting their monthly dues.

Zaki used this opportunity to appreciate Government of Bauchi state under the good leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed for the laudable achievements spread across the State as devidends of democracy to the good people of Bauchi state in just two years.
