Professor Qurix hands over to Professor Ayuba as Vice Chancellor of Bingham University, Karu

Professor William Barnabas Qurix has handed over to Professor Haruna Kuje Ayuba as the new Vice Chancellor of Bingham University, Karu in Nasarawa State.

Professor Ayuba assumed duty as the new Vice Chancellor on Monday.

This follows his recent appointment by the University’s Board of Trustees, following the recommendations of the Governing Council of the University.

Prof. Ayuba, a Professor of Biogeography and Environmental Science started his academic pursuit at Bayero University, Kano. There, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography, and he proceeded to the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, where he earned a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Geography with a specialization in Biogeography.

Prof. Ayuba has received numerous professional trainings from both national and international institutions such as the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, International Quality Assurance in Higher Education Cameroon (ICQAHEA), Global University Network Innovation Cameroon (GUNI), German Academic Exchange Services (DAAD), Germany Rectors Conference, Alexander VON Humboldt Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE), amongst others.

Prof. Ayuba is a member of professional bodies such as the Association of Nigerian Geographers, the Nigerian Environmental Study/Action Team (NEST), the Nigerian Environmental Society (NES), and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

Prof. Ayuba was the immediate past Deputy Vice Chancellor at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, where he received a Distinguished Service Award for serving meritoriously. He comes with a wealth of experience.

Prof Ayuba takes over from Prof. William Barnabas Qurix, OFR, who has served for six years meritoriously.
