The Progressives Governors Forum, (PGF), has expressed solidarity with President Bola Tinubu to tame insecurity nationwide following the escalation of the threats to the survival of Nigeria as a nation.
Chairman of the Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma, also the Governor of Imo State, affirmed this in Birnin Kebbi, when he led a delegation of the Progressive Governors on a sympathy visit to Governor Nasir Idris, on the abduction of 25 school girls at Maga.
“We’ve decided to come to identify with you on this dastardly act and to reassure you in unity, that we are standing behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the security agencies as the entire national security is threatened.
“PGF is in full support of security agencies to bring the perpetrators to book, an injury to one is an injury to all, if one part is bleeding, other parts are bleeding as well,” Uzodimma revealed.
In his response, Governor Idris expressed immense appreciation to the Progressive Governors on behalf of the government and people of Kebbi for their empathy and sympathy.
“Your visit is very dear to us, this is in consolidation of the visit yesterday, by Vice President Kashim Shettima, who was sent by President Tinubu with words of encouragement and support.
“The President assured us that the Federal Government through the security agencies, will ensure the safe return of our daughters from their captivity,” he said.
Th Governor further stated that: “Our Security Services are up and doing, I personally went to Maga to see the situation by myself, to commiserate with the parents and the family of the staff killed.
“Government has mobilised Clerics to continue to pray in this trying period, Muslims, Christians and traditional worshippers,” he said.
