The Rector,  Taraba State College of Agriculture,  Science and Technology, Jalingo,  Dr. Yakubu Ali Garjila says Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas has changed the face of the institution by embarking on massive developmental projects in the college.

The Rector who made this known while speaking with newsmen in his office in Jalingo said before the advent of the administration of Dr. Kefas, the College was like a ghost town, and indeed a glorified primary school.

“During previous Administrations, we wrote a lot of memos but non saw the light of the day but as soon as Dr. Kefas resumed office, he rekindled our hopes, approved all our memos for construction of male and female Hostels, Administration blocks, Fire Service, Clinic, road, provision of water, electricity and school bus” Garjila mentioned.

He said in the past, tricycles transporting students, staff and visitors to the College stopped at the gate but with the School bus provided by the God sent messaiah,   Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas in his kindness rescued the college from its dilapidated condition and made everything easy for both staff and students.

The Rector noted that beacause of the passion exhibited by the Governor in reviving the College both Staff and Students are fully prepared to support and collaborate with him to actualize his dreams of making the Institution a World Class standard.

He said the College has been waiting for this ample opportunity and now that it has come essily the college Community have to put its best to make their dream a reality because God has answered their prayers with the emergence of Dr. Kefas as Governor saying that all they have to do now is to pray for him for guidance and protection because he has done what others failed do in the College.

“When I came in, the College was a monotechnics but through the efforts we have made with the support of the Governor we were able to change it’s status and nomenclature from simply a College of Agriculture, Jalingo to College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Jalingo, this made the Institution a specialized Polytechnic and by the Grace of God, by next Week a team from National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) will be coming to fasten the accreditation of our courses and by the special grace of God, when they come a letter will be given for us to take to TETfund for enlistment” the Rector said.

Garjila lamented that the College is facing some security challenges even before he assumed office,  every where was opened, the security is very poor, hoodlums came in, carted facilities and killed 3 of the Staff, the school is not fenced It is so porous and because of this we engaged the services of 40 security personnel for them to at least secure most of our property in the College.
