Reps Azubuogu lauds Anambra gov’t for partnership with TCN On Power Facilities

The Member representing Nnewi North,  South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Dr. Chris Azubogu has commended the Anambra State Government for partnering the Transmission Company of Nigeria to commence the building of the first phase of the 132 KVA transmission power line from Onitsha to Nnewi.

The Federal Lawmaker was speaking at the Palace of the Traditional Ruler of Nnewi, Igwe Kenneth Orizu the Third when the delegates and conveners at Nnewi Investment Summit visited him.

Dr. Azubogu expressed confidence that with the project, challenge of power supply will greatly be addressed and help the large number of manufacturers and businesses in Nnewi reduce over dependence and cost of self generation of power.

The Federal Lawmaker, while calling on the Federal Government to put measures in place to positively impact on local manufacturers, however decried the border closure which he said greatly affected Nnewi Manufacturers who he said, their raw materials were held up, stressing the need for more consultations when such policies are being considered.

Receiving the team that includes the Special Adviser to the President on Ease of Doing Business, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Igwe Orizu commended the conveners of the initiative saying that Nnewi remains the industrial hub and called for more engagements to place Nnewi on better economic and industrial pedestal.

According to Anambra State Government, the project will traverse Obosi, Oba, Ojoto, Nnobi, Awka Etiti, Otolo Nnewi, Utuh and Amichi.
