The PDP Presidential Campaign Council has called on the electorate in Cross River State to widely mobilise eligible voters to return them to power so as to redeem the country.
Chairman of the council in Cross River State, Senator Gershom Bassey spoke when the council train stopped at the Calabar Municipality.
He remarked that the staggering debts which the ruling APC government has dangerously plunged the country into.
He disclosed that the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has incurred debts in trillion of dollars thereby leaving heavy debts burden on generations of Nigerians.
He revealed that the APC administration has also resorted to taxing the people on everything in order to meet up with their cost of running government.
According to him, voting for PDP next month will help much to change the narratives and stop the country from continuous borrowing.
“We urge all eligible voters in Cross River State to return PDP to power so that this shameful borrowing by APC can stop and image of Nigeria can be redeemed”, Bassey said.
Also speaking, the national PDP women leader, Prof Stella Effa Attoe, said this administration of APC is the worst ever and people should not miss the opportunity of casting their votes reasonably.
Remarking similarly, the leader of the delegation and Deputy Director General Operations of Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Liyel Imoke reiterated his assertion that as it is now, it is only PDP that has the solutions to the present bad governance and leadership in the country.
He re-echoed that it is the Atiku/Okowa presidency that is the only viable option for Nigeria.
Imoke used the opportunity highlight some of Atiku/Okowa 5-point agenda is to restore Nigeria’s unity through equity, social justice, and cooperation and to establish a strong and effective government that guarantees the safety and security of life and property in the country.
The team had earlier converged on Akamkpa and Biase LGAs to sensitize traditional/religious bodies, civil society, Party faithful and the general populace on the need to believe in the Atiku /Okowa ticket and PDP as the only panacea for correcting the eight years of APC that has left the citizenry reportedly impoverished and despondent.
