Religious counselling: Efficacious antidote to insecurity -Kebbi Ulama

Kebbi Islamic clerics have have identified counselling and guidance in accordance with religious tenets as the most efficacious antidote to crime and criminality in the country.
Different speakers at a National Forum of the Kebbi State branch of JIBWIS Movement in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday, emphasised the necessity to use proactive approach of moral virtues to discourage the perpetuation of incessant killings by bandits and other criminal elements.
Kebbi Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Arc. Sani Aliyu Zuru, emphasized the need for the adoption of The Supreme Scriptures approach that described the lives of human beings as sacred and worthy of protection.
“Almighty God described human being as the most honourable among His creatures and forbidden him to spill blood unjustly.Terrorism and cheating are tantamount to opposing the position of God. Therefore whoever kills another person should receive similar treatment, human life is sacred”, the Commissioner added.
Arc. Zuru further further strated that: “In circumstances where unwarranted killings are happening daily without recourse to justice, such inaction exacerbates the situation the society finds itself today. The authorities must do everything possible to protect lives and property of the citizenry”.
The Chairman of the Kebbi Council of Ulama, Sheikh Abdurrahman Isa Jega, admonished Nigerians to repent to God for mistakes committed and shun further sinful acts and actions, recommending constant prayers for solution to the trial and tribulations the nation is going through.
