Hon. Daniel Amos, Member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency of Kaduna State in the House of Representatives, has dismissed recent allegations levelled against him by a group parading itself as the Southern Kaduna Youth Forum, describing the claims as “malicious, ill-conceived, and desperate.”
In a statement signed by Victor Teh Dabo, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the lawmaker, the group was accused of launching unwarranted attacks on Amos in a bid to seek political relevance through blackmail and mischief.
According to the statement, the group’s reaction stemmed from what it termed “a harmless and legitimate call” by Hon. Amos, urging traditional rulers to be allowed to attend events organized by elected representatives, irrespective of party affiliation.
Amos had said such engagements promote unity and respect for democratic representation within communities.
“It is unfortunate that this call, which was made in good faith, has been twisted and misrepresented as an attack on the Kaduna State Government. This exposes the true motives of these faceless elements — to stoke division, silence the truth, and seek political favours through mischief,” the statement read in part.
The media aide further stressed that contrary to the insinuations of the group, Hon. Daniel Amos remains steadfast in his commitment to the dignity of traditional institutions and the welfare of his constituents, adding that no amount of blackmail or intimidation would deter him.
He dismissed claims of poor performance leveled against the lawmaker, describing them as baseless and unnecessary. “The people of Jema’a and Sanga know their representative; his verifiable record of service speaks for itself and remains in the public domain,” Dabo stated.
He also clarified that Amos enjoys a cordial working relationship with the Kaduna State Government and holds Governor Uba Sani in high regard, noting that attempts to create conflict between them had failed woefully.
“The people know who truly serves them, and they stand firmly with Hon. Daniel Amos,” the statement concluded.
