Chairman of the People Democratic Party Governors Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed has restated that the party will continue to operate in line with the established practice that recognized serving Governors as leaders of the party in their respective states.

The Governor was speaking on the lingering leadership crisis in Rivers State between Governor Siminalaye Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, Minister of the FCT, at the end of a meeting with members of the party’s National Working Committee held at Governor’s Office, Bauchi on Tuesday.

Addressing journalists after the meeting, Mohammed said the meeting agreed on the need to respect the rule of law and the principles that established the party to foster unity and deepen democracy at all levels.

The Governors Forum Chairman added that,”It is along this line that we collectively agreed for the rule of law and the delegation gave their firm commitment and support for the position of the PDP Governors Forum on Rivers State.”

According to him, “In Rivers State, where we have don’t have the established practice in which any Governor in any State that is coming from the party is the leader of the party and will therefore have the party structure for sustainability.”

Mohammed stressed the need for a strong working collaboration between the National Working Committee and the Forum towards establishing a formidable structure during the forthcoming PDP National Congress.

He expressed confidence that in 2027 PDP world will produce the next President in the country.
