Rovers FC spank Stationery Stores, Lagos in Calabar

Rovers Football Club of Calabar beat Stationery Stores FC, the Lagos darling team by 1-0 in the week 11 duel in the Nigerian National League.
The gruelling match was played in the UJ Esuene Stadium Calabar
Both teams asserted themselves the first blast of the whistle and displayed skilful footballing.
The Rovers goal was scored in the 8th minutes of the game by Daniel Ilebvare, a leading goal scorer in the team player in this season.
Emmanuel Odafi had given him a tricky pass to shoot Rovers to lead in the first half.
Rivers, the home team creates more opportunities but could not convert them into goals but missed another clear opportunity to make the scoreline 2 – 0 when Daniel Eni could not tap in a true pass laid to him by Junior Ndukwu.
However, the visiting team was not sleeping but
the defence of the home team was impenetrable.
The head coach of Stationery Stores, Mr Shakiru Lawal confessed that his team put up a good fight but lost the week 11 NNL football encounter to the home team.
Lawal said: “The costly mistake we made in our defence in the first half was a deficiency that cost us the match.
“Although we did our best, it was not good enough, we will go back home review the match and make some necessary corrections,” he said.
