A leading Presidential Aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, has taken the federal government to task on the safety of Nigerians caught up in the crisis between Russia and Ukraine.
Ohuabunwa in a statement, said government should ensure that no harm comes to any Nigerian in the ongoing conflict in the two countries.
Ohuabunwa, who is also the Convener of the New Nigeria Group (NNG), urged government to liaise with neighbouring countries with Ukraine to ensure safe passage of Nigerian citizens caught up in the conflict.
He regretted that Nigerian youths were being forced to leave the shores of the country due to the worsening economic conditions at home.
“Nigerian youths are daily being forced to leave the shores of the country due to worsening economic conditions, rising poverty and insecurity and lack of employment opportunities”, he further regretted.
Ohuabunwa stated that it was the desire to put a halt to the drift that informed his resolve to seek the highest office in the land.
According to him, “if the conditions at home were conducive, Nigerian youths would not be pouring out in their numbers in search of better opportunities abroad.
He further assured that he will reverse the trend when he gets into the office of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
