Sad as auto crash claims 11 lives in Kebbi

Eleven people have been confirmed dead following an auto accident when a truck loaded with bags of beans and passengers somersaulted along Jega-Koko road of Kebbi State.
The driver identified as Alhaji Sani M, aged 40 was Ibadan bound from Sokoto when he lost control of the truck at Giron Masa Village of Shanga Local Government Area as a result of which 21 people sustained various degrees of injuries.
While receiving treatment at Shanga General Hospital, the medical staff confirmed the death of 11 people while the rest were responding to treatment.
The Kebbi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Abubakar confirming the incident said the Police Commissioner Chris Aimionowane had sympathized with the families of the deceased and wished the injured quick recovery.
He said the CP had also called on the NURTW, NARTO and other road users to always ensure they provided adequate safety measures in their vehicles with a view to preventing incessant road accidents.
The PPRO said he equally advised them to always observe speed limit, avoid overloading, recklessness and be more careful while driving.
