Sad as Plateau police confirms 12 killed in Mangu village attack

The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed the death of 12 persons in the attack that occurred in Kulben village in Kombun district of Mangu LGA of Plateau State.
Also, one person in critical condition is receiving treatment at the Mangu General Hospital.
Command spokesman, DSP Tyopev Matthias Terna disclosed this in a statement in Jos, the state capital.
According to him, “unknown gunmen suspected to be herdsmen attacked residents” of the area and “on receipt of the information, the Commissioner of Police Plateau State Command, Isaac Akinmoyede directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations to lead detectives to the scene of the crime to stop the attack, arrest perpetrators if seen and to restore normalcy in the affected village.”
Meanwhile, investigation in the case is ongoing and the Command solicits for information from members of the public to facilitate early arrest and prosecution of perpetrators of the dastardly act to serve as deterrent to others, he said.
Earlier, the governor visited the area and sympathize with the community, while assuring that the perpetrators would be fished out and dealt with in accordance with the law.
