One of the milestone achievements recorded under the current administration of Engineer Abdullahi Sule, governor of Nasarawa State is the construction of Mega Bus Terminals in karu and Lafia.
This has helped in reducing indiscriminate motor parks, crime ,as well as decongestion traffic gridlock on mararaba high way into Abuja.
Sani Abacha Bus Terminal was commissioned by the president of the federal republic of Nigeria, president Muhammadu Buhari,in the first quarter of this year 2022.
The Bus Terminal has a capacity of housing not less than 1000 vehicle and has fitted modern facilities as banking halls, a filling station ,lodge,shops and toilet facilities ,all for commercial purposes
Mr Zakari Fakai, the General Manager , Nasarawa Transport and Logistics Company,who is the consesionier of the Mega Bus Terminals, appluaded the governor for considering the project even within his his tenure in office.
The GM ,also revealed that apart from the cash benefit from the facility,the host community ,karu has found relief and peace of mind ,as the facility has reduced drastically the traffic gridlock on the high way.
He said the transport company has.perfected plans for the procurement of more vehicle to be added to the existing 20 of Nasarawa Transport Company.
” As you can see,the bus terminal is not as the make shift motor parks , where some individual acquires a piece of land and start ticket issuing,here we have from the gate to the watch towers a security devices.Our operations so far since the project was commissioned has never witness any breach of law as there is cooperation between us and all the securities ,who are also on ground.
” There also enough space that can house a thousand vehicles and we have communication with other parks in all the state to know when a vehicle that disembarked on a journey here arrives ,because we used our travel board to determine the time a vehicle takes off from here and at what time it arrives it destination” Zakari reiterated.
He further said that the idea of having the bus terminal by this administration of Engineer Abdullahi Sule os a perfect project coming at the right time which the governor actually got it right.
Apex News Exclusive report that the bus terminal apart from offering transport services ,some small business operators are also found within the terminal as business continue to boom.
