An urgent clarion call has been sounded by the Akwa Ibom Youths to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio to “rescue the state from misgovernance as the state was drifting into total collapse.”

The youths in a “Save Us from Governor Eno’s Harsh Policies” letter, signed by
Comrade Inyang Aaron-International President and Chief Sylvester Martins- Secretary appealed to Akpabio to intervene and convene a stakeholders’ meeting to address the state’s challenges, warning that these issues cannot continue.

Their plea: “Rescue Akwa Ibom from a terrible fate.” alleged that the governor has even refused to follow the steps of his predecessors including Akpabio.

In the letter, the youths under the banner of “Progressive Youth Forum of the All Progressives Congress (APC)” said all efforts to make the governor listen to good suggestiins have been frustrated; hence, their call for speedy intervention.

The groups, further alleged that the governor have left the state in “economic darkness.” as the economic activities are at thier lowest ebb local contractors have been ” impoverished as well as key sectors, including the media”.

His administration, they argue, has failed to deliver on promises, including job creation and infrastructural development, while leaving appointees unpaid and the populace struggling even as the state wallow in the grip of growing insecurity.

The “rising unemployment, and demolitions that have rendered many homeless, as well as the lack of a responsive button” needed a convening of a strong stakeholders as issues cannot be allowed to extend beyond 2027, they warned.
