Screening of ‘The Hunting Ground’, discussion on ending sexual assault in institutions
The United States Embassy Abuja will on Wednesday host a film screening of the documentary “The Hunting Ground” and a panel discussion on ending sexual harassment in educational institutions.
In a statement emailed to Apex News from the embassy in Abuja, “The Hunting Ground” examines the issue of sexual assault in U.S. universities, the role of the institutions, and the effect on victims and their families.
According to the statement, a powerful film, it has been screened at the White House and hundreds of college campuses across the U.S. The documentary has inspired new laws in New York and California, and changes in campus policy.
The panel discussion will explore solutions to ending sexual harassment in educational institutions and participants will include the founder of #ArewaMeToo Movement and officials from universities and secondary schools.
