Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has mourned the demise of a former deputy governor of the state, Senator Solomon Ewuga, describing the death of the former FCT minister of state as a great loss not only to the state but the country at large.
In a statement he personally signed and obtained by our correspondent on Wednesday, Sule narrated that Senator Ewuga’s death is not only a personal loss to his immediate family, the Eggon nationality but the entire state, especially considering his great contributions to the political development, peace-building and nurturing of young people.
While condoling with his family, the Eggon traditional council, associates and indeed all the people of Nasarawa State, the Governor lamented the loss of political stalwart, administrator and patriot who dedicated his life to selfless service to the state and nation.
His words, “Our state has lost a consummate grassroots politician, an astute administrator, and a true patriot who dedicated his life to the service of Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large.
“In his dealings as Deputy Governor, Minister and Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the late Ewuga exemplified commitment, humility, and uncommon courage in leadership.”
He then prayed for the repose of the soul of the former Senator who represented Nasarawa North Senatorial District during the 7th National Assembly.
It would be recalled that reports about the passage of Senator Ewuga filtered in Tuesday evening.
Ewuga died at the age of 70.
