Senator Lalong appreciates President Tinubu for reappointing Professor Sharubutu as Executive Secretary ARCN

Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Lalong has commended President Bola Tinubu for reappointing Prof. Garba Sharubutu as Executive Director of the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN).

Lalong said reappointing Prof. Sharubutu for a second term is an indication that he performed well in his first term leading reforms in the organisation.

This was contained in a statement Saturday by Dr. Makut Simon Macham, Special Adviser Media to Senator Lalong.

While congratulating Prof. Sharubutu for his reappointment, Senator Lalong said the efforts to provide robust research outcomes for addressing food security and agriculture needs to continously be deepened in line with what the ARCN has achieved over the years.

The Senator who until recently was Chairman Senate Committee on Agricultural Institutions and Colleges, expressed confidence that Prof. Sharubutu and is team will consolidate on the achievements recorded in his first tenure.

He also challenged Prof. Sharubutu to again sustain the Plateau spirit of hardwork, integrity, resilience and diligence in making sure that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is achieved in the agricultural sector.

Senator Lalong hopes that the ARCN will do more to collaborate with the Universities of Agriculture particularly the new ones being established to boost the agricultural value chain while creating jobs and employment opportunities.
