Senator Lalong attends coronation of Ambassador Yahaya Kwande as Long Kwo of Kwo Chiefdom

Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Bako Lalong was among thousands that witnessed the installation of HRH Miskoom Amb. Yahaya Kwande as the 28th Long Kwo of Kwo Chiefdom (Second Class) in Qua’an-Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Lalong described the ascension to the throne by the former Diplomat, Administrator and elderstatesman as a historic occasion because of the rich history of the Kwo people and their achievements.

He said the selection of the new Long Kwo to sit on the throne of his forefathers ushers in a new era of peace and stability in the Chiefdom which was once encumbered by disputes.

Senator Lalong said he was confident that the new Long Kwo will bring his rich resume of experience, knowledge, wisdom and wide exposure to bear in consolidating the peace and progress of the Chiefdom.

He said as Senator representing the Zone, he will work with the Long Kwo and other traditional rulers to ensure that the people enjoy unity, peace and prosperity.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang while presenting the staff of office to the Long Kwo, Ambassador Yahaya Kwande admonished him to embrace everyone within his jurisdiction and also work towards tackling insecurity.

In his acceptance speech, HRH Miskoom Ambassador Yahaya Kwande thanked God for the opportunity to be enthroned as the 28th Long Kwo.

He promised to serve the people with dignity, integrity and honesty as well as unite the people towards a common destiny.

Earlier, Senator Lalong inspected and inaugurated some of his water supply Constituency projects in Quaan-Pan.

He stopped over at Namu to see one of the already completed motorised water borehole which has already been put to use. He also said others have been completed at Kurgwi, Namu and Kwa.
