Senator Lalong celebrates Chief Ropshik at 50

The former Governor of Plateau State and Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District, Senator Simon Lalong, has attended the 50th birthday celebration of Chief Kefas Ropshik, popularly known as Kefiano, where he paid glowing tribute to the celebrant and reflected on their long-standing relationship.

Speaking at the well-attended event, Senator Lalong recalled the significant role played by Chief Kefas Ropshik during his political journey, particularly in his successful election as Governor of Plateau State in 2015 and his re-election in 2019.

He acknowledged that Chief Ropshik was a committed ally at the time, whose support and contributions were instrumental during those defining moments.

Senator Lalong who was accompanied by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Poverty Reduction and Disaster Management, Dr. Barnard Mohammed Doro noted that while political alignments may change over time, mutual respect and personal relationships endure.

He recalled that Chief Ropshik later left the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing the decision as part of the dynamic nature of democratic politics.

According to the Senator, political differences have not diminished the respect that Chief Ropshik has for him stressing that maturity in politics requires the ability to separate personal relationships from party affiliations.

He congratulated the celebrant on attaining the golden age of 50, describing him as a vibrant, hardworking and influential business and philanthropist leader who has continued to make meaningful contributions to his community and the state at large.

Senator Lalong wished Chief Kefas Ropshik good health, long life and greater accomplishments in the years ahead, urging him to continue using his experience and influence to promote unity, peace and development.

The event was attended by Governor Caleb Mutfwang, family members, friends, political associates and well-wishers from across Plateau State and beyond.
