Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District and former Governor of Plateau State Simon Lalong has commiserated with the Muslim Ummah in Plateau State over the demise of Sheikh Lawal Adam, Chief Iman of Jos Central Mosque.

Lalong in a message described the late Sheikh as a man of peace who used his position to promote unity among Muslims and non Muslims alike.

The former Governor recalled the support he received from the Iman during his tenure as Governor when he achieved a lot in pushing for for forgiveness and breaking down all faultlines that were previously exploited by crises merchants to activate ethno-religious clashes and disrupt peace on the Plateau.

Lalong extended his heartfelt condolences his family, the leadership of the Jos Central Mosque as well as the entire Ulamah in the State.

He prayed that God will forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest.
