Senator Lalong donates rice to victims of Shimankar skirmishes, inspects furniture set for distribution
Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Bako Lalong has donated bags of rice to victims of last month’s communal skirmishes in Shimankar, Shendam Local Government.
Lalong who earlier visited the community shortly after the incident, had promised to continue to support the community to put behind the incident and rebuild.
When he visited to present the rice, the Senator visited the Long Menkaat Miskoom Manu Danjuma and informed him that he was back to fulfil his commitment to the community.
The Royal father thanked Senator Lalong for his passion and commitment to serving his people which has seen him coming to Shimankar twice within a short time.
He appreciated the donation of the bags of rice which he said will go a long way in assisting the victims.
He informed Senator Lalong that normalcy has been restored to the community and the people are living in harmony with one another.
Senator Lalong appreciated the role played by the royal father and also charged him to continue to work with security agencies in ensuring that those who want to cause chaos are fished out and dealt with.
Meanwhile, Senator Lalong has inspected the school furniture procured for distribution to schools within selected schools in his Constituency.
He said the furniture was acquired in continuation of his efforts to promote education and make learning condition conducive.
Earlier this month, Senator Lalong had commissioned some schools built under his Constituency projects and promised to continue to do his best in lifting education in the Senatorial zone.
