Senator Simon Lalong, representing Plateau South Senatorial District, has continued his festive engagements as part of the Christmas and New Year celebrations within his constituency.
The Senator began his day by hosting former Councillors from Shendam Local Government Area, who came to pay him a courtesy visit at his country home in Shendam.
He expressed deep appreciation for their unwavering support and contributions to the All Progressives Congress (APC), highlighting their critical role in maintaining the party’s success both in the State and at the national level.
Following this, Senator Lalong attended a local boxing competition (Dambe) in Shendam, which he had personally sponsored.
He commended the participants for using the platform to foster meaningful relationships and promote values that steer them away from criminal activities.
Lalong also thanked the organisers for their efforts, noting that the competition attracted participants from both within and outside the state.
As a token of recognition, he announced the gift of a car to the first-place winner, along with various cash prizes for other top performers.
The Senator then proceeded to Nya’k, where he witnessed the finals of a football competition. He praised the initiative as an important opportunity for building friendships and fostering unity among the youth from various communities across the Senatorial District.
Lalong pledged cash prizes to the top three teams, reinforcing his commitment to youth development and sports.
Later in the day, Senator Lalong joined the Gamai Youth Movement (GYM) for their end-of-year picnic along Kalong Road. Reflecting on his time as President of the GYM, Lalong commended the current leadership and members for their continued dedication to the Movement’s founding principles.
He emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting the rich culture, language, and traditions of the Gamai people, urging the youth to work together in safeguarding these values for future generations.
Senator Lalong’s engagements serve as a testament to his unwavering commitment to the development of his constituents, particularly the youth, and to fostering unity and progress in Plateau South.
