Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Lalong was among the senators who accompanied the Senate President Godswill Akpabio to the Maitama residence of the APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshewe to condole him over the demise of his mother Mama Lydia Yilwatda.

Senator Akpabio said he decided to pay a personal visit pending when the Senate reconvene from its recess where the official delegation will visit.

This was contained in a statement by Dr. Makut Simon Macham, Special Adviser Media to Senator Lalong.

Akpabio commiserated with the National Chairman and said the legacies of his mother are evident from the testimonies that have continued to flow in since her demise.

He said there is every reason to celebrate her life for how she persevered in prayers and labour to raise her children even after her husband was called to glory.

The Senate President prayed for the repose of her soul and asked God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.

Responding, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda said he was honoured by the visit and said the memory of his mother continues to inspire and comfort the family.

He appreciated the Senate President and other members of the National Assembly who have visited, called and sent messages to console the family.

Joining the Senate President was Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Bako Lalong, Senator Diket Plang, Plateau Central, Deputy Whip Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi.
